Subprocessors

Third-party services that process data on behalf of SpellingJoy.

SpellingJoy uses the following subprocessors to provide our educational spelling practice service. Each subprocessor is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) requiring data protections no less stringent than our own commitments under the Student Data Privacy Agreement.

Supabase

United States (AWS us-east-1, Virginia)
Purpose: Database hosting and authentication
Data processed: Student names, practice scores, teacher accounts, class data

Vercel

United States (primary edge network)
Purpose: Application hosting and content delivery
Data processed: HTTP requests containing application data in transit

Anthropic

United States
Purpose: AI teaching assistant (Joy)
Data processed: Teacher chat messages; student first names and last initials when teachers ask about their students

Resend

United States
Purpose: Email delivery for teacher communications
Data processed: Teacher email addresses and names (no student data)

Changes to this list

SpellingJoy will update this page when subprocessors are added or removed. School districts with an active Data Privacy Agreement will be notified of material changes per the terms of their agreement.
