How we review and verify

SpellingJoy publishes comparisons and reviews of education apps used by teachers, parents, and homeschoolers. This page describes exactly how that content is produced, because you shouldn't have to take a review site's word for it.

Where our facts come from

Every price, plan, grade range, and feature claim is sourced from the vendor's own official website, help center, or app-store listing at the time of writing - never from other review sites, which is how errors spread. When sources disagree, we say so and show both. When a vendor doesn't publish a fact (some don't even publish pricing), we cite the most authoritative public source available and link it.

Pricing changes - the † you see everywhere

Vendors change prices without notice. Every price on our pages carries a dagger (†) pointing to a standing note: prices were checked against the vendor's official source at the time of writing - always confirm on the vendor's site before purchasing. When we re-verify or a vendor corrects a figure, the listing shows the update date.

Rankings are not for sale

No vendor can pay, link, or claim their way to a better position. Some products listed are made by us; those are always labeled "Our pick" so you can weigh them knowing who built them. Rankings - ours or anyone's - are never paid placements, and comparison verdicts name the competitor as the winner wherever that's the honest answer.

Vendors can correct facts - not opinions

Vendors can verify their listing with a company-domain email. Verified vendors can submit factual corrections, which we check against their own public materials before publishing with a "verified by vendor" date. They cannot edit rankings, pros and cons, or review text - they can dispute those in writing, and we respond within two business days.
