Class Jobs
Every Monday morning, our teacher changes the class jobs. The jobs help our room run smoothly all week. One student passes out papers, and another student collects folders after writing time. Two students check that pencils are sharpened before lessons begin. A line leader helps the class move quietly through the hallway. The plant helper waters the windowsill plants and turns them toward the light. These jobs may seem small, but they save learning time. When materials are ready, the class can begin work faster. When the room is neat, students can find what they need. Class jobs also help students practice responsibility. A student must remember the job without being reminded every minute. If someone is absent, another student can help for the day. Students learn that each job affects the whole class. By Friday, everyone can see that the classroom belongs to all of us. We do not wait for the teacher to do every task. We work together to keep the room ready for reading, writing, math, and science. Class jobs make the classroom more organized and help students take care of their shared space.
